Rico Verhoeven (49-10) defended his heavyweight title for the fifth consecutive time at GLORY 33 on Friday night (September 9, 2016) inside Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, NJ.

Verhoeven defeated the Brazilian veteran, Anderson “Braddock” Silva (40-15-1), with a devastating inside low kick, delivering the TKO win in the final three seconds of Round 2.

Verhoeven dominated the fight, and landed more strikes than Silva. Although there were no knockdowns in the first round, Verhoeven dropped Silva three times in the second, prompting the technical knockout.

Friday’s victory was Verhoeven’s eleventh straight win in GLORY, giving him an overall record of 12-1.

The Netherland champion once again will have to prove his title as “The King of Kickboxing” when he faces Badr Hari on December 10, 2016 at Glory: Collision.
