During last Friday’s game between the LA Clippers and Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena, the ball found its way into the stands. No big deal, it happens all the time. However, in this case when Lebron James went to retrieve the ball from the fan, something you don’t see everyday in professional sporting events happened. He gestured for the fan who to throw him the ball so they could resume with the game. The fan complied, but the throw was weak, so Lebron, fired the ball right back to him.

At this point, the fan, wasn’t exactly sure what to do. Why was the league’s MVP throwing the ball back to him in the middle of the game? Apparently, James made it clear that he wanted the fan to man up and throw him a better pass. Thankfully, the fan got the message and zipped him back a more respectable pass. James and the sold-out arena acknowledged the improvement, and the game resumed.

ESPN later interviewed the fan who said “I wanted to keep the ball. When he threw it back to me, I thought he was giving it back to me. “This is the most exciting thing I ever lived in my life.”
