Good news for Arnold Schwarzenegger fans who want to see him in the zombie movie Maggie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate has acquired the North American rights to the movie, in which Arnold plays a father whose daughter (Abigail Breslin) gets infected by a virus that gradually turns her into one of the cannibalistic walking dead.

Henry Hobson was in the director’s chair for this one and Arnold took to social media last year to post some photos. The movie is set in the Midwest but some of it was shot on location in New Orleans. It’s slated for release early next year. Arnold posted the photo above (with Hobson and Breslin) on Instagram in late September 2013 with the following caption: “Really excited to start filming Maggie with our director Henry Hobson and my fantastic co-star Abigail Breslin.”

Will Arnold end up fighting zombies in the movie? According to IMDB, as the condition of Breslin’s character worsens “her loving father stays by her side.” Sounds like Arnold’s character will have some tough decisions to make. Check out some stills from Maggie.
