NHL players don’t take prisoners on the ice. Well, at least the Philadelphia Flyers’ Harry Zolnierczyk wasn’t anyway, judging by the gargantuan hit he laid on Mike Lundin of the Ottawa Senators.

Lundin could be out for a spell after this impact, while Zolnierczyk was given a five-minute major charging penalty and a game misconduct at the time of the incident.

Though Zolnierczyk’s head coach, Peter Laviolette, defended his player, claiming he didn’t do anything wrong, the NHL did not concur and have suspended the left winger for four games.

The Flyers went on to win the game 2-1.
