Voting is Open for the M&F Fit Man on Campus Competition!

Now that the finalists have been selected for our Fit Man on Campus, we want you to get to know the guys who have worked so hard to get this far.

For those not in the know, here is how the competition works:

  • Each user has a profile page where a Like, Tweet, and +1 will count as a vote.
  • In addition, each finalist received 20 challenges with different values that they will do and upload. These will be showcased on the site and range from working out with a professor to doing a wall-sit while holding a pile of textbooks.
  • The voting period ends on December 12, and the winner of the Fit Man on Campus will be announced the same day.

Make sure to check Fit Man on Campus for updates on how our finalists are faring. Also, visit our good friends and Fit Man on Campus supporters at hackcollege.com.

3. If you had one piece of advice for an out of shape student athlete who wanted to get back on the track to fitness, what would it be?

Set your goals! Rome was not built in a day! You need to figure out what you want first, whether it be losing weight, shredding, cutting or mass gains. Then, eat and train for that exact look you want! Gains are made in the kitchen, not the gym, so fuel up on healthy food!

4. What motivates you the most?

I work as a Men's Competition Show Prep and Fitness Coach at www.bodyambition.com. As the coach of my Men's Program, I love seeing people succeed in the fitness industry. When a client tells me I changed them physically and mentally, my motivation is through the sky!

5. What is your biggest pet peeve in the gym?

My biggest pet peeve is seeing old people falling asleep on the machines. This is gym time, gramps! Not nap time! … Stay committed!

David Delio – Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA

1. What are your go-to pre- and post–workout meals/snacks?

More often than not, I like to take a tablespoon of low sugar peanut butter before a workout, for the energy from the good fats. Post-workout, depending on the time of day, I’ll have something like a vegetable omelet or a chicken and veggies dish for the protein and simple carbs.

2. If you could only have one song to work out to, what would it be?

Darkest of Kin – Maylene and the Sons of Disaster

3. If you had one piece of advice for an out of shape student athlete who wanted to get back on the track to fitness, what would it be?

Seeking fitness should not be a hassle, so find a program that enlightens and motivates you. Decide what your goals are, and ask yourself, “Is what I’m doing helping me reach those goals?” If it’s important to your goals then do it a lot and if it’s not then don’t.

4. What motivates you the most?

The knowledge that I can have an effect on the world and, conversely, those that believe I cannot.

5. What is your biggest pet peeve in the gym?

My biggest pet peeve in the gym is catching those that lift with poor form. For me, poor form shows a lack of consideration for the task at hand and a disinterest in true mastery of the craft. We all need to start somewhere, but I would advise doing some proper research for the lifts and routines you are attempting.

Eat clean, train dirty.
