police car jump

If you ever wanted to jump over police cars and taxis, this race has your name all over it. In the first ever NYC Challenge Obstacle Race, 1,200 registered athletes took to the streets scaling cargo nets, climbing ropes, carrying sand bags, and yes, hurdling the cars of New York City’s finest.

Who needs mud and mountains, when you’ve got the built-in challenges of the city streets? The City Challenge Obstacle Race converts urban zones into a full size adult playground for a serious, competitive, Spartan-like race that people of all fitness levels can enjoy.

City Challenge Obstacle Race partnered with Susan G. Komen to raise funds and awareness during the event and successfully, to date, has raised more than $10,000 since starting to put together their events last year. The event made its debut in New York on Sunday, garnering the attention of other cities in the United States.

The organization’s mission is to inspire everyone to live a fit and healthy lifestyle while having fun and still giving back to the local community. They are the first urban, CLEAN race.
