Shane Black has come full circle, and he’s ready to take on the Predator—again.

After appearing in the original 1987 film alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger as an actor, the writer-director of Iron Man 3 has started filming a franchise reboot/sequel, The Predator.

To Mark The first day of filming in Vancouver, Black took to social media to show off his cast in a badass pose, equipped with military gear and action-hero-grade musculature (at least for Moonlight actor Trevante Rhodes):

The movie’s plot details have been kept under wraps so far, but what we do know makes it sound fairly unique for the franchise: “The story plunks the alien hunter—whom audiences have seen fight in jungles, concrete jungles, frozen wastelands and alien planets—in the harsh environment of … suburbia,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Black told Empire that he’s looking to “event-ise the Predator again and make it more mysterious,” all while returning to the more “intimate” roots from the original film. Black added that the film will take place after the events of Predator and Predator 2, but before the events of the (underrated, in opinion) 2010 film Predators.

Black confirmed that the film will be rated R—and will clearly be violent:

There’s no official word on a cameo by Schwarzenegger, but the O.G. Predator-killer and Black have been friends since their Predator days, and not having Schwarzenegger in the film—even in a small cameo—would be wasting a great opportunity.

Either way, this cast is stacked and should give the film a major boost:

  • Boyd Holbrook will star as a military commander. He joins the cast fresh off some rave reviews in his scenery-chewing, bionic-armed work as villain Donald Pierce in Logan with Hugh Jackman.
  • Sterling K. Brown—who is actually pretty shredded—did great work last year on The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, bringing home an Emmy, and his work on This is Us has been stellar as well. And let’s not forget that Brown will be hanging out with Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan in Black Panther, too.
  • Olivia Munn, who showed off her fighting chops in X-Men Apocalypse as Psylocke, will be right in on the action, playing a scientist working alongside the military team.
  • Keegan-Michael Key is better known for his comedic roles, but that could help make this cast stand out among the usual action movie fare in theaters.
  • Rhodes will be part of the military team as well, and he’s bringing his ripped six-pack along for the ride:

A teaser photo for the film was also released on the official Facebook page:

The Predator, directed by Black and starring Munn, Holbrook, Brown, Key, Rhodes, and Room actor Jacob Tremblay, will open February 9, 2018.
