Weigh-In Results: Cotto 154 lbs, Mayweather 151 lbs

Fight fans everywhere will tune into HBO Pay-Per-View this Saturday night to see if Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30 KOS) can do what 42 other fighters were unable to accomplish and beat Floyd Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOS) when they meet at the at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mayweather has moved up to the 154lb junior middleweight class to challenge Cotto for his WBA title. Cotto has tasted defeat twice in his career. In 2008, he lost to Antonio Margarito by TKO in round eleven. Margarito was caught with a plaster-like material in his handwraps before his next fight against Shane Mosley and was banned for a year. Though Margarito claimed he never used loaded gloves in any of his previous fights, Cotto maintains that the Mexican had an unfair advantage when they fought.

In 2009, Cotto suffered his second loss as a professional when he was beaten by Manny Pacquiao. Since then he has rattled off three wins. In his last fight in December, he exacted revenge on Margarito at Madison Square Garden when the Mexican retired after the tenth round

Mayweather has only fought once-a-year since 2009, defeating Juan Manuel Marquez that year and following that up with a very one-sided win over Shane Mosley in 2010. In his last fight in September, Mayweather knocked Victor Ortiz in the fourth round of their fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather has had his fair share of issues outside the ring, and the 35-year-old will start an 87-day jail sentence on June 1 after pleading guilty to one count of domestic violence and no contest to two harassment charges.

Mayweather is the clear favorite for the fight, and though Cotto is convinced he do what no man has done before him, Mayweather will take some beating. Enjoy the fight!
