When you need a badass dude to help lead your fight team in a motivational war dance, there’s only one man to call: Jason Momoa.

The Justice League star and former Game of Thrones actor has been in Australia and New Zealand filming 2018’s Aquaman, but he hasn’t been spending all of his time in the water.

Momoa joined New Zealand native and UFC fighter Mark Hunt during a training session ahead of his June 10 fight against Derrick Lewis, jumping in with Auckland’s Ultimate Fighting Championship team to perform a motivational haka to support Hunt. A haka is a traditional New Zealand war cry/dance among the island’s native Māori people.

Momoa got to show off the ripped physique he sculpted for Aquaman while doing the dance. His buddy and trainer Mada, a former contestant on the WWE series Tough Enough, was there for the ride too:

Momoa is currently filming Aquaman alongside stunner Amber Heard and Baywatch funnyman Yahya Abdul-Mateen, who is getting jacked while working with Mada and Momoa to play villain Black Manta in the superhero film.

Aquaman, directed by James Wan, will be released on Dec. 21, 2018.
