More than 200 million people voted for the 42nd annual People’s Choice Awards on January 6th, and a very familiar name would take home another trophy.  Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was nominated for three awards this year: Favorite Premium Cable TV Actor, Favorite Action Movie Actor, and Favorite Social Media Celebrity.

America’s voice was heard, and The Rock would go on to win Favorite Premium Cable TV Actor for his lead role in Ballers, a series that premeired in 2015 centering on football players and their families, friends, and handlers.  

The Rock expressed his gratitude in the instagram video above: “Wow, People’s Choice Awards. Thank you!  It means I’m deeply connected with the people!,” said an exuberant Johnson
