During a recent game between Holy Trinity Catholic High and Winfield-Mount Union High in Iowa, one play had painful consequences for a player and one off-guard fan.

Holy Trinity was down 4-5 and receiving serve when they set up one of their backliners for a spike. Well, she smashed the bejesus out of the ball, which hit a Winfield-Mount player flush in the face and then rebounded to trip up a student leaving the bleachers.

The player reportedly escaped with no serious injury and the fan was up on his feet in no time. Holy Trinity went on to win the match and qualify for the state finals, but that was one hell of a crazy spike.
