It looks like Ronda Rousey will have to wait her turn. After losing her women’s bantamweight crown in knockout fashion last year, everyone’s been asking the same thing. When will Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey get a chance at redemption? According to UFC President Dana White, she’ll have a little bit more time to lick her wounds (and maybe get her bikini body ready).

That’s backtracking from White’s earlier statement that neither contender would take another bout until their planned rematch this upcoming July. It’s no secret that the UFC wants for Holm vs. Rousey II to be a title fight, which will be impossible of Holm loses her title before the proposed match. With No. 1 contender Miesha Tate (who hasn’t agreed to a bout with Holm yet) waiting in the wings, this could add an interesting wrinkle to the Rousey/Holm saga. We’ll just have to see how things shape up.
