Sasha Banks achieved a childhood dream when she was recently crowned the WWE Women’s Championship winner.

It didn’t look so good for the Muscle & Fitness Hers July/August cover model in the beginning, especially when the previous Divas Champion Charlotte pushed her out of the ring completely. Seemingly defeated, Banks lay there while Charlotte brought the Championship belt up to her face, screaming, “You don’t deserve this!”

That seemed to be what drove Banks to push forward, and she eventually trapped Charlotte in a headlock, forcing her to tap out.

Overcome with emotion, Banks opened up to the audience, telling them, “I have been dreaming about this moment since I was 10 years old. I told everyone that I was the best, and this proves that I am the best.” She went on to say that her win was the start of a new era for WWE Women, an era “of change, and women’s wrestling.”

The star also took to social media to express her joy.

Banks’ post-win speech echoes similar remarks she made in her interview with Muscle & Fitness Hers. She told us about how she first fell in love with WWE at the age of 10, when she caught a match on TV; from then on, she became obsessed and started dreaming of working in the WWE. However, because of her stature, she was often faced with negative feedback, with people telling her, “You’re too small” or “You’re not good enough.” Now with her Championship win, she’s proved her haters wrong.

“I want to show the world that women belong in WWE. I just want to keep showing everyone that I am here to be the best.”
