Before you find yourself face-to-face with a plate of holiday cookies or a gooey baked brie, come up with a mantra you can repeat to yourself, advises Dina Kaplan, meditation expert and founder and CEO of The Path. “It might be, ‘I honor myself’ or ‘I seek to look great and feel great,’ or ‘I choose how to live my life.’ If we condition ourselves with a mantra we really believe in before the temptation is in front of us, we’ll be much better equipped to smile and say ‘I’m good for now’ and avoid the treat.”  (Here’s how to stay sane during the holidays.)
