Oscar Pistorius, the South African sprinter who runs using prosthetic legs and is known as "The Blade Runner," is not a man to allow obstacles to get in his way. Earlier this year, he became the first double amputee to compete in the Olympic Games.
Pistorius' latest achievement was to go to Qatar and take part in a race with an Arabian horse. No one expected him to win, but the South African has a knack for surprising people and did just that.
"It's not about who won here, it as about coming out here and really showing people that those with disabilities are not to be stereotyped against," said the 26-year-old. "Hopefully that will do a lot to change the perception of people with disabilities in this region."
However, as you see in the video, whether intentional or not, the horse did not exactly jump out of the blocks, and Pistorius got a great head start that he did not relinquish.
"More Power to You" Oscar as you show the world what one can do with hard work and determination!
