The Next Pumping Iron? Generation Iron, coming soon to a theater near you, takes an in-depth look at men’s bodybuilding as no film has since 1977’s Pumping Iron.

This month I’d like to start out my letter by congratulating one of our most valuable partners, BPI, on being named Brand of the Year by another of our trusted partners, GNC. Each year GNC announces their Top Vendor Awards in a number of categories, each representing supplement brands and products in their stores, with the top award being Brand of the Year.

It comes as little surprise to me that BPI Sports took home such a prestigious honor. GNC’s own announcement of the award said it best: “Their product innovation and speed to market have been outstanding and helped boost them to high heights at GNC this year.” BPI has also been a great partner to AMI, with a level of support that is of the highest order. I applaud GNC on their choice, and once again congratulate BPI Sports, along with James Grage and the entire BPI team on this honor.

I’d also like to bring attention to our longtime partner, MuscleTech, who is sponsoring this year’s Rock Hard Challenge. In case you’re new to Muscle & Fitness, the Rock Hard Challenge is our annual call to you, the reader, to get into the shape of your life by following our carefully designed training, nutrition, and supplement plan. We are excited to have MuscleTech sponsor this cornerstone program and can’t wait to see the results the 2013 RHC brings you.

Of course we here at Muscle & Fitness have exciting news all our own, with Arnold Schwarzenegger rejoining us as executive editor. You may recall that he held this title be- fore—nearly a decade ago—until the great state of California called upon him for his services.

Arnold got his start with this magazine all the way back in 1968. Since then, he has appeared on the covers of our fitness titles a staggering 68 times, most recently on the February 2013 cover of Muscle & Fitness. We are elated to have Arnold back with us in this important advisory role.

Speaking of Arnold, I imagine many of you reading this also know that his first big film break came in the form of the 1977 docudrama Pumping Iron. Well, I’m happy to report that after three decades, a much-needed follow-up to Pumping Iron is on the horizon, and it promises to be just as exciting as the original.

Although Generation Iron doesn’t yet have a release date yet, I can tell you that filming will be complete by the time you read this and post-production will be underway. You can be sure that when it is ready for theaters you will get a sneak peek of this highly anticipated film right here in the pages of Muscle & Fitness and, of course, on muscleandfitness.com.

Stay tuned.
