Surfing requires a tremendous amount of upper-body and core strength, as well as cardiovascular endurance and skill. Whether you’re an elite-level surfer or your just trying to get the most out of your limited time in the water, doing some cross training can really help to improve your performance.

You may have seen TRX suspension trainers at the gym, or being used by professional athletes like, LeBron James, and Drew Brees, but did you know it’s good for surfers too? TRX is made by a former Navy SEAL, Randy Hetrick, someone who understands that your body is the ultimate machine. TRX is reaching out to athletes everywhere to share meaningful content to help them improve their individual performance in their chosen sport. Recently TRX got together with Extreme Athletics, Orange County’s top surf training facility, to create some great surf training content for those looking to enhance their board skills.

The TRX is it’s portable, so you don’t have to be confined to a gym, you can take it with you to the beach or on a summer surf trip and attach it to the lifeguard tower or a sturdy tree. Surfers of all people should be the ones that want to take their workouts to the beach, and the TRX is the ideal way to do that. Check out the video below to see the proper techniques for performing each of the four surf-strengthening moves.
