Six months ago, Jamie Wright decided to try her hand at Mixed Martial Arts. We don’t know if there’s any correlation, but, this month, Wright knocked out the rest of the competitors to win Month Three of the FLEX Bikini Model Search Online, presented by Champion Nutrition.

Just over 25,000 overall votes were cast for Month Three. In the end, Wright finished with the highest vote total, with nearly 1,500 more votes than her closest competitor.

Wright is now on track for Las Vegas – where she has qualified for the 15-woman finals of The FLEX Bikini Model Search on September 27-28 during Olympia Weekend – and is one step closer to earning contracts with both Weider Publications and Champion Nutrition and appearing in the 2009 FLEX Swimsuit Issue!

In winning Month Three, Wright will be given the opportunity to shoot an extended FLEX Bodyshop in Las Vegas featuring the five monthly winners from the FLEX Bikini Model Search Online presented by Champion Nutrition. In addition, Wright wins:

– $250
– $250 gift certificate from Champion Nutrition
– $100 gift certificate from Musotica.com

There will be two more winners of the FLEX Bikini Model Search Online presented by Champion Nutrition between now and the end of the contest, which runs from April until August. Submissions for Month Four are due by the 21st of this month.

NAME: Jamie Wright
AGE: 25
HEIGHT: 5’4″
WEIGHT: 115 pounds
LIVES: Dallas, TX

THREE CHEERS: I was a competitive cheerleader all through high school, my team won nationals my senior year so we were the number one team in the nation. I’ve always been real competitive in doing any kind of sports.

SHE’S A HOOT: I’m very active as far as training between mixed martial arts and going to the gym. I’ve done my share of bikini contests – I used to work at Hooters and did their international pageant for two years, and I’ve been in their international calendar three years in a row [from 2004-2007].

MIXING IT UP : I’ve been doing mixed martial arts for around six months now. I train in Muay Thai, boxing, kick boxing and do judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I’m pretty aggressive, I guess. It’s an awesome workout. I do tournaments in judo and jiu-jitsu. I did a tournament last month and took second overall.

YOU CAN DO IT: It’s not really a girl’s sport. But I’m tough for my size. Growing up, my dad always wrestled with us. I was real tomboyish when I was young, I always wrestled and stuff. So I thought, I can do this, I’m gonna try it.

TAKE IT EASY:I’ve done my share of bikini contests, so I know enough to try not to get injured. That’s the key, I don’t want that. So I’ll probably have to take it easy for a few weeks before [Las Vegas]. I don’t want any broken bones!
