Today's Workout 36: The dumbbell circuit for muscle growth

Grab a pair of dumbbells and put on lean mass with this total-body routine.

This no-frills, no-nonsense workout that's guaranteed to spur muscle growth throughout your entire body only requires two things—a pair of dumbbells and some mental toughness.

Get through this routine—which'll put you through dumbbell Arnold shoulder presses, dumbbell front squats, and dumbbell mountain climbers—and you'll not only be left sweating, you'll have started to lay the groundwork for stacking on some serious size. 


You'll do this workout as a circuit, meaning you'll complete each exercise consecutively without rest. Once you've finished all exercises, rest for 30 seconds. Repeat the entire circuit for 5 to 10 rounds.

Depending upon your ability, you may shorten or lengthen the rest period. You may also complete more or fewer rounds.
