Mountain Climber on Sliding Discs

The mountain climber with feet on sliding discs increases core strength and stability through repeated lower body motion while the upper body works to stabilize the rest of the body. The movement may also be used for improving cardiovascular endurance.

Instructions

  1. Mountain Climbing Sliding Disc
Start in pushup position, with your feet on a pair of sliding discs. Your arms should be completely straight and directly beneath your shoulders. And your body should form a straight line from your shoulders to your ankles.
  2. Mountain Climbing Sliding Disc
Squeeze your abs and slide one knee up towards your chest while keeping your body in as straight of a line as possible. Return to the starting position and repeat the movement with your opposite knee.

Trainer’s Tips

  • Don't lift your hips too high. Your body should form a straight line from your shoulders to your ankles.
  • Press down forcefully through your feet on the disc to create more resistance and work your abs harder.
  • Don't round your lower back. Squeeze your abs to help prevent movement.
