Kacy Catanzaro made a name for herself on the July 14 episode of American Ninja Warrior when she became the first woman to complete the Dallas Trials course and qualify for the final of the competition. The 5-foot 100-pound former gymnast made it look easy, cruising through challenges that would exhaust and defeat most of us. After Catanzaro finished college some two years ago, she needed something to fill the void once filled by gymnastics (she went to Towson University on a gymnastics scholarship and was on their 2009 and 2010 ECAC championship teams and was named NCAA Southeast Regional Gymnast of the Year during her collegiate career). Once she found obstacle race running, she found her sport of choice.

Catanzaro took to Instagram to thank her fans with the photo above accompanied by this message: “Thank you for all of the love and support..it means so much to me! Taking a deep breath at the top of the tower just trying to take it all in! 🙂 This moment was out of this world! Don’t ever give up on your #dreams..accomplishing your goals is a feeling I can’t explain! #AmericanNinjaWarrior #Dallas #City #Finals #NinjaGirlsRock #NinjaWarrior #ANW #Obstacles #OCR #NSTx3 #AlphaWarrior #Ninjas #TeamKacy #KacyCatanzaro #MightyKacy #GirlPower #FitChicks #FitnessInspiration #Motivation.”
