For the University of Notre Dame football team, Valentine’s Day was no day off.

Fighting Irish head coach Brian Kelly got the team together for an intense workout, unleashing the players into the weight room as they get ready for offseason training

If there was time for eating chocolate or passing around gifts between the sled pushes, tire flipping, heavy rope pulls, deadlifts, and log carries, it was hard to find:

The Fighting Irish are coming off of a disappointing 4-8 season in 2016, but based on this video and the pep talk by Kelly, this team looks like it’s on the upswing.

Notre Dame will open the 2017 season with a home game against Temple on September 2.
