Katrin Tanja Davidsdottir (Defending Champion)
Age: 23Height: 5’6″Weight: 150 lbsAffiliate: CrossFit New England (Massachusetts)”Katrin’s got an interesting story: Her three finishes at the Games have been 30th place, 24th, and then first last year. And in 2014, she didn’t even qualify. She got killed on legless rope climbs at Regionals and didn’t even make it to the Games. Out of 13 events at the Games last year, she had six top 10 finishes and then five finishes in the teens. So she didn’t really bomb anything. She was super consistent, and that pays off in our sport.”

Kara Webb
Age: 26Height: 5’4″Weight: 154 lbsAffiliate: CrossFit Roar“Last year, in an event called ‘Murph,’ she went so hard that she almost blacked out afterward. She was really messed up and needed medical attention. She could have bowed out and nobody would have blamed her. But she somehow stayed in for the rest of the deal, performing at sub-optimal capacity, and took 5th place. She’s ferocious.”SEE ALSO: CrossFit Workouts: The Murph

Sara Sigmundsdottir
Age: 23Height: 5’7″Weight:152 lbsAffiliate:CrossFit Sudurnes (Iceland)“Last year was her first Games appearance and she finished 3rd. She’s a force to be reckoned with. She won her regional last year in Europe against Katrin and Annie Thorisdottir, the former champ. She did fantastic at the 2015 Games given that she was a rookie. She really only bombed two events. Other than that, she had eight top 10 finishes, which is actually more than Katrin had. Sara is probably the biggest threat on the female side to win. “

Samantha Briggs
Age: 34Height: 5’7″Weight: 135 lbsAffiliate: CrossFit Black Five (UK)“A huge crowd favorite, she’s one of the older competitors and was the 2013 women’s Games champion. She’s always right around the top. She’s 100% crazy and insane, but in a wonderfully good way. She’s a sweetheart, and she’s known for having one of the biggest engines in the game. Her conditioning is through the roof.”

Annie Thorisdottir
Age: 26Height: 5’7″Weight: 152 lbsAffiliate: CrossFit Reykjavik (Iceland)“She’s completely a household name in CrossFit, having been the champion twice, in 2011 and 2012. Last year she withdrew because the same event that did such a number on Webb hit Thorsdottir hard, too. She’s Icelandic, and for whatever reason the women Iceland produces in CrossFit are ridiculous. Davidsdottir and Sigmundsdottir are also Icelandic.”
