The Weider/AMI building was recently moved from Woodland Hills, CA, to the publishing capital of the world, New York City. With the move, all the FLEX bodybuilding archive photos were boxed up and shipped from California to New York with care. My first month as editor in chief was to archive the photos in a safe place, which we call the Weider Library. Boxes and boxes of photos are stored in the New York office, capturing some of the greatest bodybuilders to walk the earth, including Dorian Yates, Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, and many more.

When we unpacked the boxes of archived photos that were sent from Woodland Hills, I noticed a box in the back corner with the name Flex Wheeler on the side. Inside this box, almost like a scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark when Indiana Jones saw the Ark of the Covenant, were countless forgotten pictures of Flex Wheeler throughout his career. Most of the photos were on slides that had to be scanned and repurposed for print publication, but what I found in this box were very rare photos taken of Flex Wheeler whom I consider to be one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time.
