In August at age 40, Dennis James won the Tampa Bay Pro, and he followed that up one week later with a victory at the Europa Super Show. DJ will compete in his ninth Mr. Olympia on September 25-26. He tells us about training each bodypart once weekly and how to develop hanging hamstrings.

JAMES ON GROWING LIKE A COUCH POTATO

“If you really want to put on mass, try to train each bodypart only once per week. At first when you reduce your workout frequency you’ll probably feel that you’re not doing enough, but remember while you rest is the only time you grow. You don’t grow in the gym. You grow when you’re home, with your ass on the couch, drinking a protein shake and watching something stupid on TV.”

DENNIS JAMES’ HAMSTRINGS ROUTINE

EXERCISE SETS REPS
Lying leg curls 4 10-12
Standing one-leg curls 4 10
Stiff-leg deadlifts 3 10
