Fights fans out there can look forward to one of the most anticipated all-American fights in some time when the undisputed super middleweight champion Andre Ward takes light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson at the Oracle Arena in Oakland this Saturday night.

Dawson called Ward out after defeating boxing legend Bernard Hopkins in his last outing in April, and the Connecticut native is so keen to fight the 2004 Olympic gold medalist the he is coming down a weight from 175 pounds to 168 to meet him, and will travel to Ward's backyard in Oakland to do so.

There has been no trash talking ahead of this fight, and both men have let their impressive resumes speak for themselves. To put how good these guys are in context, one only has to look at some the names that each one has beaten.

On his way to winning the Super Six tournament, the unbeaten Ward defeated Mikkel Kessler, Allan Green, Saiko Bika, Arthur Abraham and Carl Froch (Ward broke his left arm in the week before the Frock fight, but still fought and won in dominant fashion).

Southpaw Dawson, who has only one blemish on his record, a shock August 2010 loss to Jean Pascal, has beaten Bernard Hopkins, Glen Johnson (twice), Antonio Tarver (twice) and Tomasz Adamek in a standout career.

Who do you think will win and be confirmed as the second best active American fighter behind Floyd Mayweather? Tell us what you think!
