Read articleDuring the Golden Era of the WWE, they went toe-to-toe in the ring, but now eight legendary Superstars and personalities are butting heads as roommates in a new reality show debuting tonight on the WWE Network.
Legends’ House brings together some of the most-loved stars of ’80s and ’90s squared-circle entertainment: Rowdy Roddy Piper, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Gene Okerlund, Jimmy Hart, Hillbilly Jim, Pat Patterson, Tony Atlas and Howard Finkel. In the show they share rooms, jokes, meals and genuinely tense but heartfelt moments. Atlas has a seemingly endless appetite to feed the massive bodybuilding physique he’s carrying into his sixties (food cameos in pretty much every scene he’s in), Piper’s lone-wolf personality shows through especially as he avoids some old demons, and “Mouth from the South” Hart plays the guitar like nobody’s business.
Muscle & Fitness got a sneak peek at the show on Tuesday alongside its stars, including Roddy, who says the experience was tough but totally worth it.
“We’re all bros — even Pat Patterson!” he joked. “Hacksaw turned out to be a really good friend to me. I don’t have a lot of friends … I live in a different world. It’s really, really difficult to pin me in.”
Speaking of the experience, Roddy says it was interesting but at times difficult.
“You know, we’re all professionals. It’s easy to get along with someone for three hours, but there’s some times in the show where it gets pretty warm.”
Thankfully, it never resorted to body slams.
“We’re not Jersey Shore, or The Situation or whatever!” Roddy said.
Legends’ House premieres at 8 p.m. EST only on the WWE Network. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can snag a free 7-day trial and check out the show, not to mention 30 years of Wrestlemania and pretty much every other pay-per-view event in the history of the company.
