It looks like rising UFC star Paige VanZant won’t by poached by Hollywood any time soon. The Dancing With the Stars runner-up has backed out of the remake of Kickboxer, the 1989 martial arts film made famous by Jean-Claude Van Damme. When her name came up as a casting choice, she drew some comparisons to Ronda Rousey who decided to pause her heralded fighting career to film a Roadhouse remake.

VanZant isn’t following Rousey’s footsteps.

“I’ve recently declined to be in the Kickboxer movie because I want to be 100 percent,” VanZant told ESPN. “Filming that movie was kind of going to get in the way.”

That’s even more fantastic news for the UFC. The organization just reacquired former middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre, securing another big-time name bodes well for this year’s MMA action. VanZant’s next matchup is against 27-year-old Bec Rawlings. “It’s a perfect matchup, I’m very excited for this fight and I’m excited to go to Canada and have it take place there.”
