The likelihood of sexual activity with a partner improves by 14 percent for each additional hour of sleep you get, according to University of Michigan researchers.

In the study of 171 women, researchers found sleep was important and influential on a woman’s arousal, the Daily Mail reports. Not only will women who sleep longer experience an increased sex drive, they’ll also become more aroused.

But before you start shipping your girlfriend or wife off to bed at 8pm, know that your libido is affected by sleep, too. 

Men who get an insufficient amount of sleep will experience a lower level of desire the next day and a lesser ability to reproduce (apparently your swimmers are sleepy, too) among other symptoms like poor concentration, fatigue, and weakened bone density and muscle mass.

A 2011 study from the University of Chicago even found that men who get less than five hours of sleep a night for a week or longer suffer significantly lower testosterone levels than those who get about 7-9 hours of shuteye. Your hormone levels can drop to that of someone 15 years older. Now, do you really want that to happen?
