Olympia Weekend 2009 is on! The first day of official competition is underway as the ladies started things off right with bodybuilding, fitness and figure prejudging action at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, Friday, September 25. If this afternoon is a portent of things to come, you’d better hold on to your seats. Here’s how it went down in the Fitness Olympia.
The battle for top three seems to be between Tracey Greenwood, Adela Garcia and Julie Palmer. Garcia, fresh off her victory at the Europa Super Show in Dallas, Texas, is determined to regain the title she last held in 2007.
“I’m a little nervous but I feel good heading into the night show,” Garcia said. “I don’t underestimate any of these girls so expect me to bring my A-game tonight.”
With Palmer and Greenwood – who placed second and third respectively at the Fitness International in March – looking for their first Fitness O titles, look for the ladies to pull out all the stops tonight. Tina Durkin and Tanji Johnson are close on their heels to round out the top five.
