This Saturday, July 19th, Culver City, California plays host to the 2009 NPC Los Angeles Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championships. Over 170 competitors are expected to turn out this weekend, making the L.A. one of the premier regional shows in the NPC.

Last year Ahmad Ahmad, now an IFBB pro, won it all coming out of the light heavyweight class. Back in 2003 Mark Dugdale won the show en route to the pro‘s and in 2004 Will Harris used it as a springboard to heavyweight class success and a pro card at the USA‘s a week later. In figure, IFBB standout Zhanna Rotar also found success at the L.A. that year. Clearly the L.A. can help launch aspiring physique athletes to their sports‘ highest heights.

As a bonus, the L.A. usually features an impromptu pose-off between many of the top competitors competing at next weekend‘s USA‘s. Look for Jerome Ferguson and Tamer Al Guindy, among others, to give a sneak peek at their physiques.
