We’re sure you already know this, but Olympia Weekend is less than two short weeks away! Before the IFBB Pro League superstars heat up the Las Vegas stage on September 24-25, we wanted to check in on the first-annual Olympia Pound4Pound Challenge. Pete Ciccone and Derik Farnsworth are both ramping up their training in hopes of walking out with the loot — up to $10 grand is on the line — and from the looks of it, they’re both making all the right moves.

Yesterday, Ciccone had this to say in an e-mail to flexonline.com:

“When my training partner, Derik Farnsworth (IFBB Pro League athlete and fellow contestant in the Challenge), told me he wanted to train and prepare to compete in the Pound4Pound Challenge, I thought it would be a great way to incorporate more powerlifting and heavy basic movements into my own off-season program. I’m a bodybuilder to the core, not a strength athlete, so will be a personal challenge for me. As an athlete…I’m lovin’ every minute of it. Lifting heavy stuff is fun!”

Ciccone posted a few pics and some videos on the FLEX Forums of he and Farnsworth getting ready. Check ’em out by clicking the link below.
