There’s no shortage of opinion when it comes to what went wrong for Ronda Rousey during her unforgettable UFC title fight against Holly Holm this past weekend. Many seem to think, the Furious 7 star’s single-minded rushing of Holm may have been a costly mistake. However, Mike Winkeljohn, Holm’s coach, has his own conclusion on what led to the demise of the once thought unbeatable Rousey.

“Ronda is an emotional fighter and she has overwhelmed people with that pressure sometimes and it’s worked for her in the past,” Winklejohn said, accoring to Yahoo. “It’s just Holly is at another level when it comes to intellect.” It’s that intelligence and boxing savvy that enabled Holm to gain the upper hand in the bout by keeping the charging, champ at bay with her punches, movement and patience.

“Footwork is always the key for Holly Holm in her fights, and Holly has held back a bit in the past and that was all part of the plan,” Winklejohn added “We knew we would fight Ronda one day. and Holly showed why she is now the best in the world.”
