The trajectory of C.J. Cummings‘ career has catapulted these past few months with one amazing showing after another. Just last week the Beaufort, South Carolina native won the gold at the Youth Pan American Games in San Luis Potosi, Mexico  — shattering the existing record with a total lift of 302 kg (clean & jerk 168 kg and snatch 134). Those impressive lifts netted him a total of 3 gold medals. Check the successful lifts below.

With monster lifts like that, few would argue that it’s just a matter of time before Cummings earns gold on the big stage at the World Olympics. It’s no wonder the Wall Street Journal has named him the “LeBron James” of weightlifting. Here he is setting a national record at the 2015 USA Weightlifting National Championships last month (with a new mark of 175kg/385 pounds).

Cummings has actually been shattering records for a while. He set the American men’s record in the clean and jerk last year when he was just 14 years old. Here’s a video of the teen beasting 337.3 pounds.
