We’ve seen a lot of Silvio Samuel on the competitive circuit recently. To date, Samuel has competed in all six shows held in the United States in 2007. On Wednesday, Samuel stopped by the Weider offices and made it official: He’ll make it seven-for-seven by entering the fray at the Europa Super Show on August 11.
Samuel had originally planned to sit out the Europa and enter a show closer to the Olympia, which he qualified for by placing fourth at the Ironman Pro in February.

“I believe doing the Europa [seven weeks out] will give me time to recover and be rested for the Olympia,” Samuel said. “It will give me more time to improve.”

Samuel, who has placed in the top five in five of his six forays – the lone exception being when he placed sixth at the Arnold Classic – told us he weighed 214 pounds when he dropped in yesterday, two pounds lighter than he was when placing fifth at the New York Pro on May 12. Since the Europa will be split into two weight divisions, Samuel plans on dropping down to 210 to compete in the under-210 pound division. He also believes he has a good shot to continue his impressive climb up the pro ranks and possibly win his first pro contest.

“With respect and regard to anyone who will be competing, I think I have a good chance to get my first professional win,” Samuel said. “It goes with the plan I’ve had all along, to go to the Olympia with a win, so I can keep climbing the rankings in the Olympia.”
