As kids, many of us were unsure of what the future might bring, but for Phoenix Giselle, her achievements already include a Guinness World Record, thanks to her commitment to becoming a yoga instructor while still under 6 years of age.

At just 5 years and 337 days young, Giselle completed 200 hours of yoga training to become a certified instructor. The feat not only secured the world record for youngest female yoga instructor, but her achievement is also now featured in the Guinness Book of World Records 2027.

Apparently, Giselle had first taken to the discipline of yoga during a “Mummy and Me” class and soon gave the adults a run for their money. “I love teaching classes with my mum,” said the now 8-year-old, via guinnessworldrecords.com.  “She inspired me to be a yoga teacher, so it’s fun when we get to teach together.”

Phoenix Giselle Reflects on Her Yoga World Record

“I was the only kid in a class of all grown-ups,” she recalled of the training process. “I had to read a lot of books, learn about anatomy, take classes daily, write papers, and complete practice teaching hours.”

Of course, yoga is popular all over the world thanks to the mental and physical benefits that many people get from the practice. “When I’m teaching yoga, I feel honored and proud that people allow me to lead them,” she adds.

Giselle told Guinness that one of her favorite poses is The Tree because “It’s fun to practice balancing and can be a little tricky at times.” The young yoga upstart understands that everyone must somewhere. “It’s okay if you wobble or fall,” she says reassuringly. “Just try your best.”

Now, the inspirational health and fitness guru hopes to build on the official announcement of her Guinness record with the launch of her own book, titled BREATHE. “I wrote BREATHE to help children discover the power within their breath,” she told her social media followers.
