Most people would be content with a fifth-place finish in their Olympia debut. Heather Armbrust wasn’t. Armbrust, who took the competitive year off after to focus on this year’s edition after placing fifth at the 2007 Ms. Olympia, is determined to improve upon last year’s finish. Judging from these pictures – taken on Monday, September 1, in which Armbrust is weighing 170 pounds – she is on track to do just that. Heather figures she will be a few pounds lighter than last year when she takes the stage.

This year, Armbrust – who lives in Colorado – has had some added motivation at the gym. Fellow IFBB pro bodybuilder, Phil Heath trains at the same gym. Actually, Heather and her husband Dylan are the owners of the gym. Ambrust Pro Gym in Wheat Ridge, Colorado is quickly becoming the mecca of bodybuilding in the Rockies. Taking over ownership and running a gym while preparing for a contest is no easy task but Heather is proving that it is possible.
