During Super Bowl 49 back in February, the New England Patriots weren’t the only team making a statement.

The feminine hygiene company Always broke down barriers and kicked ass when they showed off a captivating “Like a Girl” commercial, produced by Chelsea Pictures and directed by Leo Burnett and Lauren Greenfield. The ad showed girls, boys, young men and women demonstrating what they think it looks like to “run like a girl,” or “fight like a girl.” Now, over seven months later, Burnett and Always received well-deserved recognition in the form of an Emmy for their remarkable ad, according to AdAge.com. The powerful ad beat out spots from Gatorade, Adobe, Nissan and Budweiser to take the Emmy crown for “outstanding commercial” this last Saturday at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

“Like a Girl” also won big at the Webby Awards, taking top honors at the ceremony, which celebrates the best in interactive advertising and online video.
