High Box Jump

The high box jump is a plyometric exercise that increases explosive power throughout the lower body, specifically the quads, glutes, and hamstrings.

Instructions

  1. 6059_A
    Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart behind a high box. Squat down while simultaneously swinging the arms back in order to generate speed and power.
  2. High Box Jump
    Explosively swing your arms forward and jump onto the box. Land lightly with your feet hip-width apart. Stand tall on top of the box. Then carefully step off the box.

Trainer’s Tips

  • Do not attempt with a box that is too high.
  • Do not land on your toes or your heels. Make sure to land on the mid-foot with a neutral spine and your chest up.
  • Avoid landing too hard on the box. Land as softly as possible.
