While most marriages begin with wedding cake and overindulging at the buffet, one happy couple bucked this trend by picking up a barbell and proving that they are both more than able to carry their weight in this relationship—

Kingdom Strength Studio in Columbia, TN, was the venue for a different kind of commitment ceremony, as a disciplined duo took time out of their traditional nuptial process to pump some iron instead. “Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Thompson!” wrote the caption on Kingdom’s Instagram account, sharing the feat on social media. “Celebrating their wedding day with a 600-pound couples deadlift.”

Couple Commits to 600-pound Deadlift During Wedding Day

In the video, the life partners can be seen taking a deep breath, but this wasn’t about second thoughts over their union. Instead, they got to grips with the seriously stacked barbell and bent their knees in anticipation of the hard work that was yet to come. Then, proving that they are undoubtedly a match made in heaven, Mr. & Mrs. Thompson made the impressive lift. While the barbell bent under the pressure, the deadlifting duo remained strong, successfully completing their first rep as a married couple, and even holding it aloft for a period of time, so that pictures of the big day could be snapped for posterity.

Kingdom owner, Craig Aldana, who was also guest on the day, proved the strength of the congregation by making eight reps of 500 pounds that the couple can expect some seriously strong support in the future.

Sure, the tailoring may have been tested to its limits on the happiest of days, but they do say, those who train together, stay together!
