There’s only one event on the IFBB Pro circuit that’s only for the ladies and that’s the Ft. Lauderdale Pro! The third annual rendition that took place this past Saturday, as co-promoters (and IFBB pros) Shannon Dey and Kristen Nagrani put on a first class event. 45 IFBB Pros in Fitness, Figure, and Bikini were joined by over 150 amateur NPC competitors at the show labeled “for the girls, by the girls.” FLEXonline was on-hand to cover the action and you can SEE THE PHOTOS HERE!
In the pro fitness division, Camala Rodriguez won in convincing fashion. Both her physique and routine were improved from the Olympia and we saw the Rodriguez we’ve come to expect. Rookie Jodi Boam continued her quick rise to the top with a runner-up finish and Ryall Graber-Vasani placed third. All three are now qualified for the 2012 Fitness Olympia.
The pro figure contest was a much closer battle, as Alicia Harris and Gen Strobo each brought a winning physique. This day turned out to be Harris’, as her great legs carried her to the win. Strobo had to settle for second along with a ton of praise from the crowd. In third, Ann Titone took the pressure off of 2012 and now she knows she’s headed back to the Olympia.
The evening wrapped up with pro bikini and the winner was no surprise: Hot off her sixth place finish at the Bikini Olympia, India Paulino took home the win and the check. It was just last year that Paulino won the novice bikini division at this very same contest. In second, Vanessa Campbell got back to the shape displayed when she turned pro at the 2010 Team Universe. If she can improving, an in-shape Campbell is dangerous in any line-up. Taking third was Dianna Graham, who finished in the money for the second time in her rookie season.
The evening was one to remember and the ladies of the NPC/IFBB can look forward to next year’s edition of the only all-girls contest.
