Read articleMarshawn Lynch is back in the NFL—and it looks like he never left.
The Oakland Raiders running back had quite the highlight while working out during offseason team activities, and head coach Jack Del Rio felt the need to share it on social media.
Lynch went on a long run in practice similar to his classic “Beast Mode” run against the Saints. Even though it was in a non-padded, non-hitting practice, it’s still pretty impressive for the veteran running back:

This came after Lynch took part in his first practice with the team since being acquired in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks. Lynch previously retired after the 2015 season and was out of the NFL for 2016, but he itched for a comeback.
The Raiders coaxed Lynch out of his semi-retirement with the chance to play in his hometown of Oakland, and they even let him wear Raiders legend Charles Woodson’s number 24 jersey.
Lynch spent part of the offseason working with trainer Jamal Liggin, who specializes in training football players and helping athletes increase their speed and explosiveness. Liggin and Lynch go way back: The two attended high school together in California, and Liggin first got his big break into NFL training by working with Lynch when he was acquired by the Seattle Seahawks in 2010.
Now, Liggin is helping Lynch turn into “Beast Mode” again. The running back put that training on display during his first offseason workout with the Raiders, and it appears Lynch hasn’t lost a step.

Raiders linebacker Bruce Irvin, a former teammate of Lynch’s during his time with the Seahawks, couldn’t help but point out how much fun quarterback Derek Carr was having handing off to Lynch:

It’s still early in the offseason, but Lynch looks energized and ready to add a few more moments to that list.
The Raiders open the season on Sept. 10, 2017, on the road against the Tennessee Titans.
