The teaser trailer for British boxing-based crime drama, Fightland was just released by STARZ, and this 50 Cent-produced punch-fest could prove to be a huge binge watch with a knockout cast.
Touted as a “gripping story of redemption, betrayal, and brutal ambition—in and out of the ring,” Fightland will mark Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s first internationally produced show. And, with an impressive portfolio of projects including Power, and the Power Book spinoffs, this could be another big win for the rapper turned filmmaker.
On the night that British boxer Duke Kilroy (played by Howard Charles) becomes world heavyweight champion, his brother is assaulted and dies. The crestfallen boxer’s reaction lands him in prison but upon his release, Duke makes a sinister discovery and seeks vengeance against the man he believes set him up—the criminal kingpin and former promoter, Kingsley Marshall (played by Nicholas Pinnock).
Working with a cartel desperate to control London’s drug market, Duke begins a high-risk game to infiltrate Kingsley’s empire and destroy it from within, in order to smoke out his enemy. To meet that goal, Duke will be forced to confront demons and channel everything that made him a champion fighter in his pursuit to win the ultimate victory—revenge for his brother.
The role of boxer Duke Kilroy is played by Howard Charles, who was born in Brixton, London. Charles has appeared in movies like, The Cleaner (2025) and Monster Party (2018). A classically trained actor, he was awarded a coveted scholarship at the Drama Centre London and honed his craft with The Royal Shakespeare company. Charles also appears in the series, “Top Boy.”
Duke Kilyroy’s nemesis, Kinglsey Marshall, is played by Nicolas Pinnock, another Londoner who is known for his role as boxing coach in the critically acclaimed movie, The Heavyweight (2025). Pinnock was also the lead character in the legal drama series For Life, and is a British Urban Film Festival award winner for Best Actor. Fightland will also star Max Brown, who starred in the 2019 Downton Abbey movie, Sebastián Capitán Viveros (Spider-Man: Far from Home, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue) and a host of episodic special guests.
With stunt coordinator Crispin Layfield, who is known for the Netflix series Legends, The Gentlemen, and the BBC’s Happy Valley, at the helm, Fightland was given an authentic feel by drawing inspiration from the fighting community of Streatham in London and the Peacock Gym in Canning Town, the boxing gym that helped develop world champions like Lennox Lewis, Naseem Hamed, Frank Bruno, and Daniel Dubois.
Fightland is set to premiere on Friday, July 31, 2026, with new episodes available to stream weekly on Fridays via the STARZ app, and all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms.
