Virtual Posedown: Rhoden vs. Wheeler

Young Ken Wheeler earned his nickname for his flexibility way back when he was a skinny martial artist. Maybe it was fate that “Flex” was so appropriate when he turned to bodybuilding that it replaced his first name everywhere but on his driver’s license. Shawn Rhoden gained his moniker when he was an unknown amateur practicing his posing to The Terminator’s soundtrack, and a friend said he looked like “half Flex and half machine.” He’s been Flexatron ever since.

Now let’s imagine Rhoden traveling back in time, Terminator-style, to face the legend he was half named after. Rhoden sports larger wheels than the four-time Arnold Classic champ ever had, but prime Wheeler would display superior shoulder and back density, helping him win the crucial rear double biceps. Both men would flex curvy physiques with striking X-frames. The front double biceps—the best pose for both—would be a dogfight. Would you prefer the original Flex or his younger doppelgänger?
