This Thursday, October 22nd, After-School All-Stars (ASAS), a national non-profit, is hosting an athletic stair climb fundraiser at 4 World Trade Center to raise support and awareness for its free local programs which support 1200 inner-city kids in Newark and New York.

New Yorkers will climb up 68 floors (1600 steps) and attend an after-party celebration hosted by Hot 97 and ESPN New York radio personality Peter Rosenberg. Former Giants punter Steve Weatherford will attend the after-party, along with local sponsors and stakeholders. Climbers will be treated to incentive gifts and a raffle at the after-party. Thanks to Maserati of Manhattan, the top fundraising team will win a VIP experience with Maserati while the raffle winner will take a Maserati home for the weekend. Other incentives were generously provided by Soul Cycle, L’Oreal, and Gold’s Gym.

Executive Director Dax Devlon-Ross said, “We are so grateful to all our climbers and supporters who are making this possible. For every one student in an afterschool program, two are waiting to get in. Through the efforts of all our climbers and partners, After-School All-Stars will reach even more kids here in Newark and New York. Our incredible thanks to supporters including Silverstein Properties, Maserati of Manhattan, HOT 97, New York Life, Gold’s Gym, Teza Technologies, Nestle, and the TJX Companies who have literally stepped up and supported our kids.

The Climb for Kids coincides with national after-school advocacy day, Lights on Afterschool, which celebrates the diversity of opportunities that afterschool programs make possible. The Climb 4 Kids will raise funds to ensure that ASAS can continue to offer high-quality, comprehensive afterschool programs to Newark and New York students.
