Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Jason Statham are a bunch of alpha males not accustomed to losing—whether it’s in the gym or on the screen.

So it should come as no surprise that, when Fate of the Furious finally hit theaters on Friday, April 14, it completely dominated the box office.

But to say that the latest installment of the Fast & Furious franchise simply dominated wouldn’t do the film (or its kickass cast) very much justice.

That’s because the jaw-dropping, stunt-laden action flick demolished a tough-to-beat record: Earning more money worldwide in its opening weekend than even Star Wars: The Force Awakens (which earned $529 million on its debut).

Taking in just over $100 million in the United States and more than $430 million internationally, Fate of the Furious shows no signs of slowing down either at home or overseas. So, naturally, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a.k.a. the guy who can wrestle a torpedo with his bare damn hands (just go see the damn movie already), took to Instagram to celebrate the official news on Monday, April 17.

“Biggest global box office opening of all time and the most fun, get-the-job-done, shit-talkin’ character I’ve ever played,” Johnson captioned the Instagram post. And never one to forget to dish out some well-deserved fan love, he added, “Grateful and thrilled you guys luv the movie!”
