Looking for an out-of-the-ordinary protein fix? Try this quick and easy recipe for a muscle-building—and mouthwatering—35 grams of protein

Makes 4 Servings

>> 1 Tbsp. flour
>> 1⁄2 tsp. lemon pepper seasoning
>> 4 4-oz. slices lean sirloin steak
>> 1 cup sliced mushrooms
>> 4 onion slices, 1⁄4-inch thick
>> 1 tsp. low-sodium beef-flavored bouillon granules
>> 1 cup hot water
>> 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
>> 1⁄4 cup water
>> Nonstick cooking spray

PREPARE: Mix flour with lemon pepper seasoning in a small dish, then sprinkle on steak. Set aside. Coat a nonstick skillet with cooking spray and place over medium heat.

START: Add steak and cook until browned, turning once. Top each piece of steak with mushrooms and one onion slice. In a small bowl, combine bouillon granules and hot water, stirring well. Add broth to skillet and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Remove steak to a serving platter; cover to keep warm. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water, then stir into broth in skillet.

COOK: Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Return steak to skillet and simmer in gravy for a short time or until ready to serve. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
