UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones “Jones (20-1 MMA, 14-1 UFC) defeated Glover Teixeira (22-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) in Baltimore on Saturday night. The much-anticipated fight was a one-sided affair, and Jones used his huge reach advantage early in the fight and kept Teixeira at bay with punishing kicks and punches before abandoning the distance fight and taking on Teixeira against the cage and dominating him there, too.

“It was a lot of improv,” Jones told Joe Rogan after the fight. “Game plan was to stick takedowns and pick him apart from a distance. I realized he was winding up on his punches so I switched game plans and fought at extremely close range. It worked out great.” The judges thought it did too, and all three gave every round to the champion for identical scores of 50-45.

So what’s next for the champion? The fight that is Dana White is reportedly considering is a rematch between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson. The Swede took Jones to the limit in their fight last September and White reportedly said he might consider taking the rematch to Sweden.

Jones, who defended his title for a seventh time and also recorded his 14th UFC win in the light heavyweight division, took to Twitter to remind fans of his status:

In the co-main event, Phil Davis’ hopes of getting to the top of the list to challenge Jones in the near future were decimated by Anthony Johnson, who took his opponent apart over three rounds with his sheer strength and power. Davis got tagged at the start of the fight, and everything he did was thwarted by Johnson who fought like a man possessed and showed brilliant defense to Davis’ multiple attempts to take him down. With this impressive win, Johnson has made a hugh statement of intent to challenge Jones.
