28-Days-to-Lean Meal Plan
With the right plan and the right discipline, you can get seriously shredded in just 28 days.
Read articleBigger and Stronger This week has been a little more of a roller coaster but the highs were higher than last week and I guess that’s all that really matters. I mean what are we doing in the gym anyway, the goal is to keep getting bigger and stronger and outside of that who gives a shit how you get there. I have to admit because of some personal things that were unavoidable with my family this week I wasn’t able to have a full seven days of balls to the wall training or eating for that matter. It happens to all of us, I’m sure I’m not the only one to have an issue now and then; the key is what do we do when we’re going through it. For me, I just wipe the slate clean and start all over. I forget about the past and keep moving forward and most definitely don’t ever beat myself up about it. Did I feel guilty for missing a couple days of training and eating properly? Of course! But that’s not the point. The point is those days are behind me now and even though I lost about six pounds I am over it and back on track working towards being the best I can be.
On a better note I had a few great training days. I really was able to train pain free again for another week and that is always a plus. For shoulders we incorporated some strip sets that involved not putting the weight down. Example; Hammer Military Press with four plates a side. Do all you can and then hold the weight at the top stripping a plate, do this again after failure with three and then go to failure with two. That was one set, no stopping, no putting the weight down. Next week I’ll have a video for you of that set. I was also able to kill 5 plates a side on deadlifts again which I know for some bbers is normal but for me since I just started deadlifting last year feels pretty good. Unlike a lot of bbers I also do my deadlifts at the end of my back workout leading into hams (I do back and hams together since I hit hams twice a week) not at the beginning when I’m fresh. So training was great, eating was great (I’ve added in white rice pasta again and its helping me stay full for sure) and to top it off.
I have redone my website for those who haven’t seen it yet. I’ve added an area to subscribe and please do, those who subscribe now while the offer is up will receive a free one-week workout that I will put together. It won’t be specific for any lagging areas or any one person but it will give you a good idea of what my week at the gym looks like. From there you can take and tweak the program to suit your needs. I have to say this offseason had started off really slow and I was beginning to feel concerned that I wasn’t progressing enough to really make a difference at the FLEX Pro from my 2011 form. Those doubts are gone out the window and I know the package I bring in 2012 will be much better and bigger than last year. This week I hit an all time high 304lbs! Okay, I won’t lie that was in the middle of the day with three meals in me. In the morning I was 296lbs on an empty stomach. God damn 300lbs, so elusive, only 4lbs to go..lol. I’m gonna get there this week even if its all in my love handles..lol. Just playin I know there’s no point in having a fat ass just for the sake of having one. I can say this though the extra weight has given me tons of power in the gym, whether or not that’s bro science I don’t care its working for me!
