In what must be termed an upset, New York’s Kevin English won the 2009 Olympia 202 Showdown, relegating last year’s champ, David Henry to the runner-up spot.

The win could be attributed in part to English’s conditioning, which was a touch off from his stellar form of ’08, but as much to English’s skin-tight conditioning and impossibly impressive shoulder-to-waist ratio.

“I worked so hard this year and this win means so much to me,” said a clearly elated English moments after stepping off the stage here at the Orleans Arena. While he admitted that it was too soon to think much beyond anything but savoring his victory, English did hint that he may move back up to the open division next year before aiming to retain his title.

Following closely behind Henry was the thickly muscled and drum-tight Eduardo Correa. Mark Dugdale showed his best-ever form in taking fourth and Wales’ James “Flex” Lewis rounded out the top five.

Congratulations to Kevin English, the 2009 Olympia 202 Showdown Champion!
